after doing some testing today. there was to me atleast a big difference from 1st to 2nd gear in manual. i chirped the tires from 1st to 2nd gear. where i hadnt notice it before in D mode. and it seems like it went into 2nd gear alot harder. which i guess is why i got the chirp. but then again the butt dyno is never trustworthy :P

I have that too like I said it kinda sounds like when changing gear in a manual without using the clutch

so it stays at 7500?

how nice of them. no worrying about redzoning. just flooring it

When the rev limiter is hit, the rpm's will decline. I haven't stayed at WOT after hitting the rev limiter to find out what the steady state rpm's would be.

most of the time there isnt a steady rpm . it will bounce the rev down a few hundred and you will just hit the limiter again. over and over. thats how my 2005 GP GXP did.
