Default high frequency sound/annoying as hell sound

I ran across a post on this a while back, cant find it.

I think for the first time ever i was at a stop light today with my music turned off, windows up.. and no cars driving by me at all.. it was perfectly silent except for the engine and.... this high frequency sound. Totally annoying right? Did anyone ever figure out what it is?

so a lot of people have this issue, but seriously for once I actually heard it and I was like "oh crap I have this too?" and then the next day voila, it's all gone. So I don't know what to tell ya, I heard people say it's from the ecu. But I don't know, I just hope it doesn't come back, I heard it once and it's been gone since then.

What you need to do is bring it to the nissan service manager, take a drive with him and let him hear it. He'll then escalate this up to this management. Nissan only claims that a small number of cars has this issue, so it's to all our best interest to log/report these issues.

From what I've read its the ECU;however, the people who claim to have replaced the ECU still haven't reported back whether the problem has been resolved.

almost seems like it's the ECU/BCM in the passenger kick and it's a fuel pump relay or something. kind of strange. thankfully mine is pretty quiet; any radio or talking or road noise typically drowns it out.
