Loud whining noise on deceleration

Get the car back in the air again and get someone to raise and lower the RPM's so you can better pinpoint the noise with the clutch pedal in and out. Use either a stethoscope or a long screwdriver to put to areas on the bell housing to help pinpoint the noise. If you use a screwdriver put the handle part to your ear and the flathead or Phillips end on where you want to listen.

You can obviously disregard the wheel bearings, axles, diff and drive shaft as to them not making noise since the noise is present while stationary while revving the engine. I always hated when service writers would just put check noise. *rolls eyes*

I've never heard a noise like this before. I'm interested in what's causing it.
