Shortened output shaft play

I cut the longer one, and going off Z1s site if I buy one to replace it says it replaces the drivers side “left if your sitting in the car”

I cut the longer one, and going off Z1s site if I buy one to replace it says it replaces the drivers side “left if your sitting in the car” original short one snapped right in, this has nothing on it when I took it out and all the others who did this looks the same? I had 1.7 taken off. Slides in and bolts up etc no prob it just doesn’t lock. It can slide in and out..don’t really want this thing popping out.
