You're in a tough spot no doubt. Sorry to hear that Z1 didn't help much. I think it would really be a good idea to listen to NorthStyle and reach out to Eugene Turkov. I get that you may not want to start over with a new tuner but you gotta start thinking about the money you've thrown at the problem without any real guidance (how much of that is wasted?).
He may not be able to solve the problem with a tune, but he will definitely help steer you in the right direction of the problem if he cannot solve it. The level of detail this guy uses when analyzing engine tunes is meticulous and methodical. He actually has algorithms developed to analyze the data from logging. Most tuners want short logs (2 min at most kinda thing) to analyze because there's too much info - Eugene wants ALL the data so he can run his algorithms to look for various flags in the data and get the full picture. PM him at ByThaBay and link this thread and see what he has to say

Just in case someone runs into the same issue, here's an update:
All the problems I had, has been fixed now! The car had many small details here and there, and I managed to catch all those ghosts and I don't want to get rid of the car anymore due to frustration. I got for the third time, a full new exhaust from headers to tailpipe. This time, I opted for Z1 shorty headers (ceramic coated and wrapped by me) Then a custom made CBE, true dual (no H-Pipe or anything similar) 3" with borla resonators and a nice big borla silencer, with very nice looking carbon tips. All made by a local shop in Cummin GA, I really like their custom exhaust work (I don't know if I can or can't mention the shop's name). That seemed to be a night and day difference, somehow my car never liked the Long Tube Headers. Then, Eugene told me that I was reaching only 9 PSi of boost, so I tried three different serpentine belts, and a new RPM belt on the SC side. No change, My tensioner broke and got an upgraded version (much easy to adjust and change the belt on the Vortech). I purchased a boost leak detector from Z1, 5PSi and no leaks, 10PSi and all good, 15PSi and still holding great... I started moving pipes and hoses and then I heard a leak, it was on a reference line for the fuel pressure regulator, Z1's fault because they put zip ties and once the engine bay got hot, it started to leak, that's why the car felt awesome some days (mostly in the mornings) and felt lacking other times. I put some metallic spring clamps and done. I'm in love with the car now, it was a long journey full of small issues. Also heads up to Eugene, he is really awesome, very very knowledgeable and is always there willing to help. We are still fine tuning with datalogs but so far I'm happy with how it is now. |
