i have never seen a hole straight through the stub shaft.. usualy there is a little divot from the centerdrill used for machining but it shouldn't go all the way

i have never seen a hole straight through the stub shaft.. usualy there is a little divot from the centerdrill used for machining but it shouldn't go all the way through? i would be tempted to say it is a defect but nissan might have changed it. it we be a really stupid place to put a vent holeas none of that area is sealed. i would be tempted to say someone lubed it for easy dissassembly. check to see if the hole goes all the through the stub flange if it does i would check with a dealer to see if they made a change to it and if not get a new stub flange.
