My OEM battery lasted almost 9 years, which I attribute to this tender and my seasonal driving habits. I've never disconnected the battery when charging with this. It comes with a lead you can attach to the battery that allows you to quickly disconnect it and go. I highly recommend it, especially if it isn't going to be your daily driver.

I have two of these and agree they work great! I keep the ring terminal on my Z because we don't drive it often. Bought the 2nd one due to COVID and not driving my wife's car lately. Very convenient!

Even though it states in the description, Not recommended for 1999 and newer cars because of the constant draw that their advanced electric systems require; use the Battery Tender Plus instead."

The one I'm using is about 30 yrs old. It's still chugging along.

Like I said, I bought this awhile back. Mine looks slightly different then the link I posted. Maybe they changed it in the newer models? All I can tell you is that this has worked flawlessly for me for all these years.
