I am the one who installed it, I've done a ton of clutch jobs but this is my first to have an issue with.

Joe couldn't help you pinpoint the problem? I'm no expert by any means but maybe this DIY could help? I know there's an alignment tool for the clutch but I don't think that's your problem.
