370Z running on 5 cylinders, rough idle, no power

Did search for it but not quite found the answer so I think it would be a better idea to open my own thread. The motor is currently running on

Default 370Z running on 5 cylinders, rough idle, no power

Did search for it but not quite found the answer so I think it would be a better idea to open my own thread.

The motor is currently running on 5 cylinders as the my local racing garage mechanics said, they replaced an ignition coil and 2 O2 sensors, got the rough idle and power loss problems fixed for a night.. then it happen again this morning.
Nissan doesn't stock 370Z parts in my country, all of them were import from grey market so there is no "official" mechanic support from Nissan for 370Z, owners need to sent their car fix at local shop or order parts from japan by themselves.

ps. misfiring too, no any CEL light on dash tho.

Anyone had the same problems before?
Gladly bring u around bangkok if you can troubleshoot what is wrong with my car hahhahaha.

Thank you

You can fly me to Bangkok and we can puzzle over this problem together.

I have not heard of this problem before though.

Sawadeekap,

If you have an ODB/CAN reader, plug it in and check the DTCs. Based on how it's running, there should be some even if you don't have a CEL.

There has to be some codes if it really is running on 5 cylinders.

Have you checked the injector for that cylinder?

You don't need a Nissan specialist to diagnose the vehicle. As long as you find a competent mechanic you should be good to go.

Hard to diagnose the issue though without knowing any codes. Retrieve them and post them. Good luck

Sounds like they are replacing parts hoping to find they right one without actually diagnosing the problem. Starting with dtc codes is a must. The cylinder in question needs to be checked for compression, spark and fuel availability. Your average mechanic should really know this and perhaps a second opinion is warranted.
