No argument about using a lift vs. not using one. We just don’t have one and I had confidence doing it this way due to videos of Z1 and AdminTuning doing the install on jack stands. At this point I would say without a doubt the preferred method would be with a lift and to drop the engine/tranny. That said, it can be done properly this way and we are in no hurry. It’s only a race against my patience but in all we are both enjoying it and learning along the way.

Awesome work with the install, I just recently ordered the c2 cam as well, hopefully I can do it in the near future...but I'm really not in any rush...looking forward to your progress

They did mine w/ the engine in the car. Got a few update pictures along the way w/ the front clip missing

Exactly why I was comfortable doing it this way. Springs have been replaced and cams were installed today. We are officially re-building, which should be much faster than the tear down was. I'm getting excited now.

Will probably have it to Dynosty the week of 6/24. Don’t have a scheduled tune date but I’m leaving it with them and they are going to work it in the first opportunity they have. So Hopefully tuned/dyno results by end of June or early July.

Goddamn the install on this is scary expensive (relative to the gain). I suppose to make best use of the time you'd do headers and whatever ported parts you had, plus any engine dress stuff while you had everything apart

I am currently at intake/RHFC/catback. Following this thread is sort of depressing in that the next step is quite the massive one financially, for . . . less than 400rwhp

Cam + FBO, coolerworx shifter, stiffer bushings, tune out the throttle lag, a lightweight flywheel....should make quite an experience.

it can be very expensive depending what else you do while the motor is open.. for what i spent i could have almost bought a twin turbo kit..

Couldn’t have said it any better myself. Personally, I love N/A high revving engines. I have nothing against the Forced Induction guys and could not argue economics on which path makes more sense from a price/hp ratio, and I’ve considered going that route multiple times. However performance is more than just HP. I have tried to improve all aspects of performance on this build, brakes, suspension, chassis rigidity, weight reduction, etc.

Personally I have been satisfied with the power this car makes at 342whp, and cannot think of a time when I was driving on the street thinking I wish it had more power. It is usable, I don’t drive on interstates, instead I am fortunate to live an area with great driving roads with hills and tight curvy roads. Because of that I already very rarely reach the limits of this car and certainly couldn’t if I had 600hp.

I’m excited for a little extra power from these Cams, how much who knows? However, it’s more about adding to the excitement that already is from a higher revving NA exhaust sound which will just add to the driving experience I already enjoy.
