My thoughts do not change; I heard those comments before. I am talking sheer lap times..... Nismo was not there lap time wise when compared to the others (not including the MX5)....

Not there? You mean it didn't beat the Audi supercar that cost three times as much $$$$? Shocking.

MT loved the car, in fact the pro drive said it was the best car on the track out of the entire field.

No, but it should be just a tad closer to the Cayman S; was that not the Z's performance target. FAIL in this test big time. IMO, it should have been a bit closer to the GT500, but obviously Ford's time on the chasis along with the gobs of more power spank the Z.

To your point, good new on the feel of the car, but it's numbers should have been much better. I bet a tuned Base+Sport with about 100 pounds of weight savings will put the Z in a better light. Nismo, not so much for.

The NISMO has 350 at the flywheel. 330 at the wheel would be a less than 7 percent loss though the drive train. I've never seen a drop that small. You should get close to 300 whp at best depending on dyno.

That shop is filled with awesome guys who know there stuff in and out... They go to all ends to make you happy and do great work..

I from first hand experience know for a fact that their dyno is a very favorable dyno...

I put down 279whp/254tq in my 03 vq35de with cai, plenum, test pipes, exhaust, uprev...

on a dyno jet i put down 255whp ( adam from performance tweaked my tune for that dyno session, but no way he pulled 24 additional horsepower )

Its just a favorable dyno as far as your numbers... you can not take that number and consider your car any faster than the next guys on this board or on the road...

if you look on z and g boards this dyno consistantly puts out great numbers..

again not flaming them at all, if i need work, i go to them, if someone else i know needs work, i send them to performance...

its just how the dyno is

BUT

i know they had a dyno day today, and there were other cars there, so how did you car do compared to non nismo 370s and the HRs

HRS with test pipes put down right around or just over 300 on their dyno, with full bolt ons 310-315 and thats much higher than other dyno results you will find ...

its just about a baseline, start modding, and watch your gains... that is all

I LOL'ed at this one, well actually, LMFAO'ed. A mustang dyno, muahaha. You'd be lucky to make 265whp on one of them with a NISMO, and funny thing is, NISMO's on dynojets are putting down damn near the same numbers as the base 370's. I call bullshyt, I dont care if the shop is reputable or not, im willing to bet a nice cut and paste job of a dyno sheet will be posted soon hereafter. Like some people have already posted, people with full bolt on's, over 2.5k in mods arent making that kind of power, especially on a mustang.

Sorry it upsets me when someone who owns the "racing" version of a car throws out a ridiculous number without a nice, long explanation about how they make no sense.

Also Denny, that is GREAT news.

Ya know, my feeling also. About time something good happened and what a great feeling it is to make real make progress vs watching things spin around you out of control.

Is that the way the rest of the vq37's dyno plots look? IMO, that's not really something I'd want to have at all...

No. That's just along the lines of what you get out of a Mustang Dyno in terms of charting. The scaling and plots differ from the accepted "standard" DynoJet readout to the point where you can't really compare the two.

Again, this is why dynos are merely devices to tune, not measure power. They give you the ability to repeatedly run the engine in 4th or 5th gear all the way to redline in a safe, controlled environment where you can monitor and thus tune the engine's vitals.

One could program a dyno to have a stock Toyota Corolla put down 400 WHP.

Here is what a realistic "330 WHP" looks like on a Z. This is the chart of Semtex's car with all the Stillen bolt-ons on a DynoJet:

We arent saying you are BS, we are saying your numbers are BS so you can post all the dyno plots in the world and it wont make a difference. I completely agree with modshack; if you bumped into me with your stock z and told me you made 330whp I'd probably laugh in your face.

Its not a matter of doing a run somewhere else either. If you go to a more normal reading dyno, you will be lower.

No ones got anything against you here, just know that those aren't accurate numbers by any means. Usually the highest reading dyno's are dynapaks and even those are reading in the 290 range for a stock 370Z. Then the Dynojets reading about 285whp and then your heartbreakers the mustangdynes and the dynodynamics that are reading in the 260 range.

Be informed.
