Good news, I had my ZR's go off last night! Bad news, it was from a set of HIDs behind me. I am very interested Ed if you can get some sort of performance out of these.

Mine are completely useless (probably as a result of my install, but it would be nice to confirm).

It does but I haven't had them on in the car yet to see exactly how bright they are. When I lit them up when I tested it, they were pretty clear. Not sure how they will be with auto dimming

So turns out that the system I have uses a four pin connector, just like a regular old phone line.

Routed my mic and display wires through the headliner, got that back in place and sunvisors back on. JB's didn't have the bulbs I wanted in stock, so have to wait till some more come in.

Anyone know the replacement numbers for LED's on the interior and license plate? I am looking to do my map lights, trunk and license.

So I mounted my laser shifters today and went to find a place to mount the radar module and ran into a snag. There really isn't a place to mount it.

I suppose I can get some self tapping screws and mount it to the crash bar. Only place I can really see where it will sit secure...

Anyone else have this system? Suggestions on radar module placement?

From everything I have read on optimum radar performance for the custom installed systems, the radar receiver needs to 'see' the road for best performance. With the crash bar it would be hidden behind the bumper, not ideal. I would mount it on the top row of the fangs, dead centre. It should fit in there nicely.

So taking the stock mic out of the mount is really easy. There are two small phillips screws holding it in. You need a special screwdriver to take them out. They usually come in a set with three different phillips heads, plus some slotted heads. They are great for repairing glasses as well

Next, for my type of mic, the audio hole wasn't big enough, so I drilled it out using a 1/4 bit and rotating the bit around while I drilled. Ended up fitting like a glove

Finally some double sided tape to keep it in place and there you have it. The housing clips into the light assembly and your mic is nice and secure and functional. Will post reviews on how well it works

I have finished my install. Will have pics of the working display in a bit.

I can safely say that NO etching is needed to have a nice clear display. It is very bright and quite easy to read.

I do apologize for not having pics of GPS and modular placement. I am not really one for taking a bunch of pics, considering I work alone, its a bit of a pain.

To recap, I placed the display in my mirror, the gps in the passenger A pillar, near the bottom of the pillar (was a tight fit, the unit is quite a bit bigger than a HU gps module) out of the way of airbag deployment, the control module that everything plugs into is next to the computer module on the passenger side. USB is next to the 12v powersource on the passengers side, under the glove box. Speaker is next to the firewall, tucked in the corner with double sided tape on the passenger side.

Laser, radar placement was pretty straight forward. The rear jammer is above the license plate and under the trunk open button. The front shifters on the top grill piece of the stock bumper. The radar detector in the middle of the grill of the stock bumper. All lines from the front going through the firewall at the same point as the front harness.

Oh, and the mic seems to be working just as good as the spot the dealership had installed it at (top of the drivers side A pillar, with tape) and the GPS module for the HU is working just as good as it was installed (by front driver speaker on a metal sticky mat)

I am very pleased with how everything fits. There is a TON of room under the glovebox towards the firewall for you to put all sorts of things back there. I never had to lift the carpet up or remove the styrofoam from the floor. Although, there would be even more room for stuff if you did. Each to their own

Another FYI with Pioneer....

The connector for your iPod is very touchy I have learned. I have it running underneath my console, next to the e-brake. For those of us in Canada, the switches for heated seats are great to zip tie to, to keep everything out of the way. However, be sure to tape your connectors together, my audio jacks are a bit loose, and just a touch out of place and sound only comes through the left or right, not both. I took my console off not once, but twice trying to fix this problem lol
