DIY: How to Bleed Your Brake Fluid Using Motive Power Bleeder 0117 (AK370Z)

Hi guys, I am preparing to proceed with the brake fluid.

Unfortunately, there is not available the Power bleeder 0117, 1107 or 1117 in my country. However, I've seen that there are differents brake bleeders with different adapter sizes in the cap.

Do you know what size is the diameter of your Power bleeder to buy one with these dimensions?

Also I saw the most common cap sizes are 45.5mm, 45mm, 43mm

Just wondering what happens when you pressurized the motive container. There is air being introduced through the line into the brake fluid reservoir before the fluid. Since it is a closed system, where is that air going to go except through the line into the system?

Just like the brake system itself. If you have fluid in the bottle, then you won't introduce air into the system.

I understand. Look at the video as the tank is pressurized the fluid began to go through the tube to the brake reservoir. However there is air ahead of the fluid that is being pushed into the reservoir. That is the air I am referring to. It is a closed system and that air has to go somewhere. Am I missing something?

that air that is getting pushed into the reservoir is depressurized when you remove the motive. the air does not get mix into the brake fluid.

I had the same concern. Apparently the fluid travels 'around' this air bubble. Perhaps someone with fluid dynamics background can better explain this phenomenon.

Brake fluid is heavier than air ... as long as the reservoir is not empty when you start pumping the bleeder, air will not enter the system because of the fluid at the bottom of the reservoir. Layman's understanding

That is true, but what keeps the air in the line between the tank and the reservoir from being pushed along with the fluid?

So how are u supposed to clean the motive bleeder with the denatured alcohol exactly? Dump some in shake it up and pump it through the tubing? Also do this before and after use? Let air dry after dumping out the alcohol before I put my brake fluid in for use? Simple questions but serious questions lol

You got it bro....thats what the instructions said to do and exactly what I do. Been using mine for the last 3 years...denatured alcohol dries quick...
