After your test fit you can clean it up and smooth it out repaint it if needed. Remember the grey is all that will be seen.. When you glue the lens on its goop is clear but try to avoid getting it all over the lens.
I measured the halo, its 1/4 inch width then I measured the gap between the Light Shroud and The Turn Signal Shroud we just modified. It looks like the halo wont fit with out modifying the Light Shroud. So I need to cut 1/4 out of the housing. I have to figure out how to do it, if I cut the wrong side I ruin the hole thing. So when you mark it check it twice before cutting. ![]() ![]() Mounted the modded turn signal shroud and slide the halo in front of it. This will show you which side you need to cut. Once cut it will allow the halo to sit centered on the shroud. Once you figure out what you need to cut off the light shroud you can go ahead and glue the halo on the turn signal shroud you modified. I marked were i needed to cut with a marker and used the air grinder to grind it out slowly and get a good tight fit. Check it as you go you don't want a huge gap. You should be able to slide the turn signal shroud (with everything mounted to it) in and out freely. If you grind to much don't worry, once the lights are painted its not very visiable unless guys like us are looking for it. ![]() My cut worked perfectly see the pic. Also gave me a good location to run the wires to the control box. ![]() ![]() The hard part over is now over, just remember what you did and do it again to the other light. Next I figured out how I wanted my 90mm halo wire to run so I drilled a small hole in the projection light shroud. Now I have done a lot of lights I recommend running wires through the top of the shroud, if you run them at the bottom or on the side they will be visible once they are put back together. The picture is old and shows the hole being on the side, drill at the top not the side. The retrofitsource.com XB halo's fit snugly in the valley of the shroud. This halo ring from LitWurkz (Angel Eye Kit) will not sit in the valley. They are glued to the outside. This DIY I used the lightwurks kit and also ordered LED Turn Signals. ****You will want to replace the stock turn signal light bulb**** The stock bulb gives off a lot of heat, that heat will transfer to the G35 Lens we installed, That lens will get hot enough to cause your paint to bubble up over time. ![]() I hate wrapping, I tried to do it with one piece. NOT going to happen with me at the helm. I did what I could.. ![]() Came out okay just worried about the heat. I have seen a few forum members wrap the inside of the lights but not on the shroud itself. I guess we will find out. The worst that can happen is I take it off and paint it some crazy color .The wife says to stop and eat, I have been at it all day and it started to rain. Good timing. Please REP +! and LIKE if you like the progress or this build helps you do your own.. Thanks for lookin !

This morning started good, I wrapped the reflector and mounted the large halo with 2 part epoxy. Later in this thread I will recommend not using epoxy, just use Auto Goop for Everything. It works great.. The large halo wont recede so its generously glued to the outside of the shroud.
Sanded the filler from last night and finished taping off the light shroud and painted.. ![]() Waiting for the paint to dry I cut the strip for the light shroud.. ![]() I would like to say PAINTERS TAPE SUCKS.. It was probably my fault i should have gotten some better tape. I used what I had laying around. Man it would have had the perfect balance of chrome trim and carbon. ![]() ![]() So I picked up the hammer and .... Just kidding, shifted gears and re-taped the Carbon strip. Going all black.. I will say I did NOT sand these to ruff them up before painting. ***Make sure you do rough them up before painting*** I was amazed how easy it flaked off when I removed the tape.. Lesson Learned. ![]() Starting the second Light wile this one dries. Now I have to repeat everything I did on the first light.

This is how I attached the modded turn signal shroud. The epoxy drys quick so mixing and putting it on is PITA. Like I said before use Auto Goop for everything it works great and give you time to fix any mistakes you might accidentally make.
![]() Using some impact sockets to press it all together while it dries. I want the Halo and lens to dry together. The socks just act as a press. Use anything thats heavy and will keep it pressed until it drys.

Just got a few things off The Retrofit store during this thanksgiving deal stuff; got 25% off on my order. I just hope i got most of the right stuff, any feedback for what i might be missing component wise would be great.

I figure I try and show a few things they may not have been covered here earlier and try to provide some images where I can.
Hole drilled in main light fixture fir halo wires. ![]() Demon eye: Drilled two holes, one for the bolt and another safety wire to hold it in place. (This did not work for me because I did not position it far enough forward, if there was even enough space, where I was trying to shine the light into the small opening in the projector shroud. ![]() ![]() ![]() Never the less, try it and maybe you can get it to work. Here is how I had things wired, ![]() I wired into the car harness at each plug, GREEN=(+)Turn signal & RED=(+)HID on R/H light. The L/H light is different, I honestly dont remember but compare the plug to R/H and the wire positions are the same, looking at the end of the plug with the clip on top the bottom middle THICK wire is (+)HID and top left is the signal. ![]() I was going to use the quick splicers, those blue things, but decided to just strip some of the wiring away and solder leads right onto the harness, more secure that way. Now I wired the (+)Lead from the Morimot BT controller into the harness at the battery bay, should be the wire bundle most outboard going through the battery wall FWD. I removed some of the tape and what not and found a thick red wire that belongs to the radiator fan that has constant power once the car is on. ![]() Connected with a fused line to BT controller. ![]() I ran all the wires upfront and "mounted" them to the front bumper, only place I found to have enough space to store all this ****, controller, and the six ballasts for the halos and demon eyes. There is room on each side above the black plastic flapper looking things. ![]() I used 3M tape that sticks to its self and a couple zip-ties to secure them, and a bunch more zip-ties to hold all the wiring in place. An as you can see, I wrapped the whole damn thing in plastic to protect it as much as I can from water and debris, taped each end. I modded the pumper a little to accommodate the zip-ties and plastic stuff, just for away some of the ridged that would sit inside the metal bumper's valley. An I also used the horns mount as my ground for the DEMON EYES. ![]() Not sure if the images will shot, using google drive as my source, so ill fix it when i get a chance. Should still be able to copy the link and view the images. If I can round up some more images or I made mistake, please let me know, Ill add more as I find it and get time. ![]() ![]() Heres the link to the folder with images if the previous links did show: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ni...dev3YE1Mqlv-a_ Hope this helps anyone in any way. This forum itself will host your pics for you.. You can either create an album (quicklinks->Pictures&albums if browsing on the web) or attach the pictures directly to your post and insert them in. Lots of good info here, would be even better laid out the way you intended! =) I haven't seen a lot of good writeups on demon eyes for our lights so I am particularly interested in that!

I was worried about using the epoxy with the heat from the projector but when I take it apart I'll try it out. Over all, the Morimoto BT controller works great, for what it is; and the halos are supper bright too. Will update further on quality as time passes. I'll sort those images out this week for you if I get the time; I drive back and forth from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati for work and class. Also, sorry for the tons of typos too, using my phone to type tends to be messy and I forget to check. :P ![]() Try this link for the photos, think I fixed it...: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ni...dev3YE1Mqlv-a_ Last edited by Genosphere; 01-31-2018 at 08:10 AM. For some reason every time I try to add photos, the post dosent go through. So I added a new link at bottom with images. Sorry. Hole drilled in main light fixture fir halo wires.
