sounds good, but that's the problem with this steering lock. it seems to be intermittent.. but if it happened to you once, it will probably happen again.
![]() some folks here had their car towed but when the dealer received the car it started up fine. (like your case). while that's great (less towing fees) that does not explain what caused the failure. another guy had his car towed, mis-diagnosed as the IPDM failure by the dealer, then 5-6 days later the same problem re-ocurred and re-towed and i think his dealer finally decided to replace the steering lock. on the threads a while ago, we were originally thinking this was an IPDM failure, but it seems to be caused by the steering lock. |

My '09 is currently at a Nissan Dealer to have this repaired. Did not start this morning until I played around with the steering column. Drove it right to the garage. This was the 3rd time it happened in the last 2 weeks and I don't want to take any chances of it happening again and leaving me stranded. This was going to be a very expensive fix, almost $1,500 but they told me it will be covered under the warranty so there is no cost to me! Thank goodness!

The bad news is you still have the same problem with the new SL You should have pulled that fuse along time ago,and if you did you would have your car now.

If the lock failed, sounds like the fix would be to remove the lock mechanism, open it up, tape the switches from Korrupt's pics, put it back together and you should be good to go?
Am I missing anything? Thanks |

Tack on an 09 6MT touring sports edition. And I'm Active Duty stationed in Europe where my extended warranty is no good. Nissan, why you no recall?
