The (dots) holes are the actual Low and High marks, you want to be somewhere between them. I usually try to shoot for around 2/3, but it's not worth obsessing over as long as you're in range.
If you're not racing the car, it probably won't hurt much to be slightly overfilled for a little while. The main downside to overfilling is that you get some extra splashing and foaming if you're cornering hard and revving high a lot, and foamy oil doesn't lubricate as well. |
