Interested to here your thoughts. It looks like a pretty sweet alternative to a full blown lift.

5 feet long and 45 lbs apiece seems pretty promising for portability

A 'Vette acquaintance of mine has these and loves them. High enough for us fat guys to get under.

I ordered the 3500 ac powered lifts. They are scheduled to be delivered TOMORROW!

I wasn't sure if the 5000 would be too long for my 124 Spider autocross car. The 3500 will fit and either and the Z and the 124 are light enough for the 3500 model.

These should make the installation of the FI CBE much easier for an old man (me).

The lift system arrived with some pretty bad box damage but the lift system survived.

Time to assemble was about two beers (one hour). You will need to provide teflon sealing tape and two quarts of transmission fluid or 10w jack oil.

The quick disconnects are very high quality and have minimal leakage when disconnecting. Pull them off quick and only a drop will leak out.

The only part of the assembly that was difficult was mounting the pump to the carrier. I found that if you place the motor/pump on its end with the motor on the bottom shimmed with a couple of pieces of cardboard you can align the bolt holes much easier.

I will need to bleed the air out of the system and then I will be ready for my first lift of the Z. I'll post pictures this evening once I get the car in the air.

So far, I am very impressed with the lift system. Well thought out and designed.

Well I didn't have to bleed the system after all. After a couple of more non loaded lifts the lifts started working the same. According to the instructions, if both lifts do not lift at the same time the system needs bleeding. There is also a air cylinder that needs to be pressurized to 50psi. The instructions don't mention what this is for but they warn you not to go past 50psi.

I used the larger of the two sets of blocks supplied with the lift and they worked very well. I measured 16 1/2 inches of clearance at full lift. The system has two lift heights that the locking system works with. The lower one would be good for tire removal and the highest one for under the car work. Ranger sells a taller lift block set and I will probably order them.

One thing that I discovered is that the hoses retain some pressure and when reconnecting them they will spew some fluid as they connect. No big deal just keep a rag handy. I used automatic transmission fluid because it is red and if you have any leaks they show up really well. Jack oil is usually clear so that would be less conspicuous if a coupling is leaking.

I would say that the system takes about 10 minutes to setup from a stored condition. Not bad at all. I disconnected the hoses which means that you will have to reconnect for the next use. The system can be stored under your car and keep the hoses connected to the pump if you plan on using it a lot. The lifts come with a handle that hooks to each lift so that when they are stored under the car you just grab the handle and slide them into position. When you are done just slide them back under the car.

I think that this was a VERY good investment!!!! I highly recommend these!!

Man, if I ever get the extra jackaroo, I'd be interested in this. It would come in handy for my Ghia as well.

You sold me on this. This is ideal for me since I am planning on selling my current house in the next year or two and don´t want to put in a full lift in the garage. I am going with the 5000lb model though (call me paranoid).

Thanks for the write-up!
