With our stuff you don't want to go anymore aggressive than the white pad and Fine Machine Polish for light correcting. Definitely mask the edge off with painters tape to avoid getting it caked up along that edge. Other than that, maintain it with detail spray or waterless wash, apply a coat of your preferred wax or sealant regularly and thats about it. Polishes are used to correct defects, but don't provide protection. A sealant or wax is what provides protection.
