Bras

What is your opinion of bras? Leather/Vinyl (whatever they're made of) versus spray on clear/Line-X. I want to get something to protect the front of my Z. I don't know

I was going to add a nsfw tag to the title then realized it's about car bras!

Clear bra is the best hands down. Although, some members like the leather bra for their Z because they can take it off in 5 minutes.

Here are some threads on clear bra that will keep you busy

clearbra and if you need to do cross country trips on occasion, just use some painter's tape on the front end and side mirrors.

I have a leather bra at the moment.

I plan on 3mm taping as much frontal surface area as possible before I make my trip from Georgia back to California.

Once back in CA, I plan on getting some ventureshield ultra clear bras; nobody here in GA seems to offer it

haha I'm a fan of doing stuff on my own if possible, but I remember installing tint a long time ago on my dad's suv...

long story short, I ended up spending more time removing my mess than installing it

I'll look into it though. Looks like he's located in Florida.

hahaha, i see. it's easier than tinting curved glass, i can tell you that much. ive done a couple of the clearbra's and it was cake. you just need to have patience. that site also has instructions.

tip of the day for clearbra install is...keep your fingers wet while handling the adhesive side.

yep, he's in florida. well known in the MINI community...and elsewhere i guess.

Have a clear bra (bumper, partial hood and fenders, and mirrors) on my baby. Did a road trip this summer (4,473 miles) - rain, road construction, loose gravel, you name it. Clear bra absorbed all. No need for fugly blue tape IMO.

Never was a fan of leather bras. I have Ventureshield on bumper, full hood, fenders, headlights. Haven't had anything to complain about since I got it in June when I bought the Z.

wat i was saying is if you dont have clearbra and you're only doing cross country once in awhile, you can use painter's tape.

why the hell would you tape over clear bra anyway? defeats the purpose...
