Painting in cold/rainy weather

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but I am planning to buy a bumper soon, and wanted to try to repaint it with duracoats perfect match paint, but I live in Washington state and its ALWAYS raining.

For those of you that live here know that it gets crazy during winter.

Would it be possible to paint outside in my porch (I live in an apartment complex) and between each coat to hit it with a heat gun from a distance to atleast speed up the drying process

I'm with Junkman2008 - don't do it. If the moisture doesn't get you, the dust will. If you can't find a suitable place to spray, get a body shop to shoot it for you.

To be honest, thinking about doing what you described tells me that you should really leave this up to a professional. What you described sounds like what we call a "Bubba Shade Tree" repair and no one in their right mind will want that car when you go to sell it.

I do my own painting. It's not hard. But no, do not do it in cold, humid weather. Paint booths at body shops are kept at 85 degrees with little humidity for a reason. Do you have a basement or garage you can paint in?

That depends on the level of expertise that you are shooting for. Anyone can spray paint on a car but if you are truly a professional at it, it ain't all that easy at all. Especially when it comes to dealing with fiberglass and polyurethane front and rear fascias.

Even a pro is going to have problems if they are spraying on the back porch in cold, damp weather.

I guess I shouldn't say it's not hard since I've been doing it for family member's cars for years so I have experience. (my mom doesn't know how to drive.

I never denied or said otherwise. I just stated why body shops paint booths temperatures and humidity is regulated

My dads house has a garage that I can use, but I won't be able to leave the bumper in there over night, due to it being a single car garage lol.
