that sucks, I was under the understanding that 40th was a more in-depth process just like most pearl paints which end up costing more

I haven't had anything repainted yet but will need some touch ups in the next couple years

I know that 40th quartz is more expensive than normal 370z paint. its equal to the pearl white. buying it VS paying someone to paint something is 2 different things. I can buy a colour match spray can for the same price as magnetic black. however if I go to get something painted, it will be twice the price for the "painter" to spray....
I've experienced it already

One thing about those single stage without hardener spray cans is that they lack flex agent. The spray clear is same. Without it, on the bumper it would soon look like the moon peppered with chips. I would get proper stuff from PPG or equivalent rent a booth and do it properly. Then there's the compounding and wet sand, polishing...lots of work to get things done right. now thinking about it, i would just have it done by the pros saving the aggravation

this is why I don't understand why people always b!tch and think a paint job should be cheaper then they are. It's because a good one will actually take a lot more work to have it done properly, the wet sanding alone is hours worth of labour!

sure shop around get the best deal but make sure you ask the right questions and know that they are taking all the proper steps not just some hack job……

All good for now, just a really tiring day at home. water seeped behind a window and went under. had to tear down walls, insulation and carpet. I will need to let it dry for a week and rebuild the inside. around $1k damage so far. It could have been way worse

damn that sucks dude! after I read your post today I went out a shovelled one of my basement window so no snow would leak in through there I am in a new house so windows shouldn't leak…. but I figured I might as well clear out the side that the snow drifts up on

I am happy to hear it isn't going to be super expensive however if it was a lot then at least you could actually use your insurance

from what I understand, PW is a three stage paint. Isn't 40th single stage?

lmao i took the Z out today and went sideways for like an hour before someone called the cops. i ducked out the back entrance cuz a friend who was playing lookout told me two cops just rushed the parking lot.
zero tire wear drifting ftw. i didnt get any pics cuz it was last minute and my friends phone had to be kept free to call me.
i ended up washing the car and zip tying my plate to my mesh. its ugly but i wont get tickets lmao. SO EFFING CLEAN

LOL! What a rebel.

I think I'll just tie my plates to the mesh like you, where did you get the mesh btw? Also, did you need to get a camber kit?

I don't think so....
That's y our colour looks like dark grey, purple, graphite and even red in some lighting....
From the research i did, 40th was twice the price, equal to PW

dont tie it on. i only did that for now until i find something that looks nicer.
i literally just zip tied it down. it looks .... ghetto lol.
Im considering either making a bracket for it outta junk from home depot or something. Whatever i end up doing i'll post here. I thought to find my old Stillen tow hook thing but i have a feeling i gave it to Miki.... fffffuuuuu

i did get a camber kit but as the amuse sideskirts are so low dropping the car is kinda stupid if you have 18s. If i go lower then i might need them but at my current height its not needed. Theres a pic in the amuse thread that shows you only have like 4 inches of clearance on OEM height. im dropped 1.5 so that's only 2.5 lmao
my sideskirts are doomed when my V3s go on :P

Have you considered the show-n-go? Eventually I will be going that way, but the zip ties will do until then. I'm all about the attention to detail, eventually I'll get illuminated kick plates, GT-R start button, 6k HIDS, center caps, etc but it all adds up.
