If you ever travel to the Montreal area in the winter you will see its very common for houses without garages to have a temporary carport setup in the driveway.

If you ever travel to the Montreal area in the winter you will see its very common for houses without garages to have a temporary carport setup in the driveway. I would imagine they would hold up to the snow loads just fine because they are setting them up for use in the winter to keep the snow off the vehicles. They are all steel tubular frames with some type of white plastic or cloth pulled over the frame.
