Default Feal 441 Coilover Review

Hey everybody! I picked up the a set of Feal 441 coil-overs from Feal suspension last week. I emailed Odi Backis at Feal suspension and a month later he had a set of coilovers made from scratch. From initial inquiry email to install of the coilovers was about a month.

I picked this set of coilovers with the intention of getting back into drifting, as well as attending track days at spring mountain.

The build quality of these coilovers is amazing. Everything is assembled in house, by Feal. Odi is a wizard when it comes to suspensions. He will chase the smallest of tolerances to get the correct measurement. (After the shake down run of my car immediately after install, odi re-measured everything and adjusted the ride height of the car because it was off by an 1/8th on 2 wheels and achieved it.....)

I was not able to get pictures of the coil overs, as I could not be present in the ''shop area'' during the install due to insurance reasons....Bummer.... My 370Z was the test dummy for the first set of Feal Coil Overs so this weekend when I raise the ride height of the car, I will post pictures of the Coil-overs on the car.

I live in Las Vegas and made the drive to Feal's headquarters in Ontario, California. The way there I was used to my sport suspension but thought California roads suck, why do they suck so bad? After my coil-overs were installed in Ontario I made the drive back to Vegas. The difference between stock and these coilovers was night and day and I didn't notice the shitty roads. The car felt not only smooth, but turning response was amazing. The car felt like it was glued to the road. Given there aren't many twistys in between L.A. and Vegas. The curves that were there, I dominated. Since the install I have been at mid setting. There are 30 settings, 1-30, I am at setting 15. Doesn't feel to soft or stiff, its just right for handling. I no longer feel every bump in the road. Keep in mind I am on 30mm sidewalls, so this is an accomplishment within itself..... I know you can get slammed on these coil-overs. I can go lower but refuse to, as I know I will rip off my already low hanging AAM exhaust. I have been going to all of my secret roads here in Las Vegas for ''spirited testing'' and have noticed the car is planted to the ground.

My coilover spring rate is 12k and 5k on swift springs. If you discuss this with Odi Backis, the owner/ceo/Formula Drift driver. He can and will tailor make a set for you. Feal also assembles, re-builds and re-valves coil-overs in house. All of that is done in Ontario, California in the USA. Keep it 'Merica!

I know this thread is useless without pictures and I feel bad, but here is a link to Feal's website were you can check out the 350Z coil-overs for reference (similar but not the same) until I am able to post pictures. rallyracingsuspension.com - 350Z photos
Or contact Feal suspension at odi@fealsuspension.com

Overall Review is postive, I am super happy with the coil-overs. I have had sets for different cars in the past. Nothing has come close to these. The ride is amazing, the response time and professionalism of Feal is second to none. For the price I feel these coilovers are a steal. $1350 for all of the following.

Information about the coilovers
Spring rates 12/5K
Aluminum top mounts with rubber bushing
These coilovers will allow you to lower car to the point where tires are tucking.

This is general information that pertains to all Feal 441 coilovers including the 370z:
- One way adjustable, 30 click spectrum
- Monotube
- Japanese Swift springs
- Assembled in house, U.S.A.
- Rebuildable and revalvable in house, U.S.A.
- Independant height adjustment
-Aluminum top mounts
- Corrosion resistant coating + Anodized aluminum parts
- High quality low friction seals and rod guide bushings
- High flow pistons (allows super high range of damping tuning)

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me.
Here is a picture of my car after final adjustments at Feal.

More Pictures, Better Pic of the car after install and the coil-overs on the car.

$1350 is the price of the coilovers, I believe Feal changes $200 for install if you want them installed there. Yes, 5k in the rear. If you want a different spring rate you can request it.

Not to be an áss but... Not sure why I'd buy these for $1150 when I can buy some tried and true BC/BRs for less or PowerTrix with the Swift upgrade, or spend a bit more for some KW V1's...

Maybe I'm the unedjamacated one, but I've never heard of Feel.

True type is about half as OEM type. So imagine he's running 10k rear in OEM style.

Well aren't all those OEM type? Every race team runs a true type so you have stance ($1300), jrz ($4000-16,000), and these now. Depends if you hate stance or not. Also I don't know why people like KW?!!. The design to me sucks! No height adjustment on the shock so no way to set preload. Once you lower to far on the front you lose preload. Every coilover needs two adjustments, not just one. One for the spring and one for the lower mount.

Well, depends if you like all the load on 1 point, and I'm sure race teams have every other suspension piece modified to work with true type coils.
(And Stance SS's can be had for like $1000-1050 shipped.)

People like KW because they're well known, they do things properly. They make the suspension for hyper cars like the Koniggsegg.

I added more why I don't like them if you want to respond to that since I don't get it.

I'm interested. I'm not set on stance and fortune auto won't make me a true type. I'm looking at 15-18k front and if I'm right about half the weight of a true type vs OEM, then 7-8k rear. I'll need convinced some how though

Coils are next for me, but I want OEM style. They're right to I trust a big brand like KW next to Taiwanese made products.

Get em! I couldn't be happier with mine. They are tight like a tiger and makes your mechanic happier too as they are easy to adjust. Same with the rear camber arms.
