this past weekend I decided to take a look at my brake pads. Got the wheel off and realized I could not visually see the pad, so I removed the "boot" that houses the pad. Once I got it apart, lost some brake fluid and realized this was not the best way to do this so I put it all back together and decided to leave it up to the professionals. Now the issue is that when I push on the brake pedal the pedal goes all the way to the floor. When I pump the brakes, I do get the pressure back, but only temporarily. The brakes are working, but something is not right. How can I get the brakes working normally? (I did check the brake fluid and it is full.)

yep..I took apart the caliper and $250 later I am back up and running. Stopped by the Nissan Stealership today. My intention was to replace the brake pads. Does anyone have a DIY for this?

Wtf, so confused...
So... OP, you couldn't see the pad? From what angle? Why does that lead to TAKING APART the caliper? Have you ever done that before? Do you own a torque wrench? Sorry for being an áss, I'm just trying to understand what is going on and what led to what

I'm guessing if he started to separate the halves of the calipers, they had to remove them, inspect and re-tighten, then bleed the system. On an 09, a complete flush was also in order. 250 was not a bad price.

You REALLY took apart the whole caliper?!?!?!?!? ![]() Never heard of THAT one before! I'll have to share this with the car-guys. Thank you for making my morning... and please for God's sake, don't do any work on your car. Leave that to the wrenchin' folks.
