The concern over cracking stems from racers buying cheap rotors kits that manufacturer make by taking regular stock type rotors and drilling into them. Then, the racer turns around and buys cheaper brake pads, and the caliper has to push into the rotors harder to get the pads to brake the car - causing super high heat situations.
The key to having brakes that work is doing your research and matching the correct material brakes with the correct quality pads - and you'll have a good brake system that works together. Buy Racing brake rotors with Hawk HP pads as they suggest, and you'll have good quality fun :P
