If I recall correctly, my Motive bleeder only came with one o-ring. Which adapter are you using?

I had to use the thinner one to get it to seal if I remember correctly. I have the plastic adapter cap version

The plastic one for Ford and Asian vehicles, think it's 1117 or 1107.

The 1117 adapter is correct. It typically has a red anodized cap but I think some variations are black plastic.

It would appear that I have a faulty item, as it won't hold pressure as I can hear the air leaking from inside the pressure guage

I also had a faulty pressure gauge when I received my bleeder. They sent me a new one

Must be a faulty batch, I'm in Australia and the bleeder came from Las Vegas so let's see how good Amazon is with sorting it all out !

I directly called motive even though I think mine was also purchased thru Amazon. They were quick to ship out another gauge

Turns out it was the fitting that the gauge screws into was leaking. Motive should really have used an O ring to seal the fitting to the plastic bottle, I just putsilicone thread sealer on the fitting and now it holds pressure.

Wasn't it at least put in with Teflon tape from Factory?

No, just some kind of glue. The hole that it goes through was pretty rough too so I cleaned it up and used PTFE tape and silicone thread sealer to seal it. Pretty poor quality control by motive

You said it came from Amazon not Motive direct?

Often these Amazon "sellers" buy big bin bargains from Amazon and sell on their storefront.

Often these items have sat for a long time in uncontrolled conditions or were previously returned and slight damage.

I'm sure someone with untrained eye saw this and deemed it ok to resell.

I've learned my lessons. I always buy from "Ship and sold by AMAZON". (not a resellers) However, I always default the manufacturer and order direct. Prices are often same but shipping may be costlier.
