Default Blitz R_VIT IDS installed

Hey everyone i got my blitz for Christmas, which is why i bought the navtool in the group buy. My girl was awsome enough to get it for me from Sam at GTM. First words out of her mouth was how awsome there customer service was and how Sam emailed her the links so she was able to make sure she bought the right thing for me. So thanks GTM for helping her/me out lol., All in all it was a easy installation on both parts. Only took a few hours and was all done. Here are some pics. I will list below them what is going on. If anyone has any questions let me know.

I just followed the DIY on removing the panels. I did not remove the shift knob to remove the trim panel just moved it out of the way

I removed the blank plate and installed another heater switch to be able to switch from the Blitz and regular nav screen. This was easy to get to. Just lift up firmly on the cup holder and it will all come off.

Alright the navtool requires 12v ACC power. I bought a T tap at auto zone and connected the navtool power wire to the cig power wire since that only comes on when car is in acc mode or running. Red wire is the power wire.

Here is where i ran the ground for the navtool. There are three wires running to one clip. Ground all the white wires, and the parking brake wire.

This is where i mounted the navtool. Right up front where the glove box mounts up there is a nice size slit that it fit in perfectly. There is also a thin metal bar where you can zip tie it to.

This i just wanted to show so some one doesn't rip it out when trying to remove the glove box. Just take a small flat head and carefully pry it toward the driver side of the car and it will come right off.

This is where I installed the Blitz. I had no idea where i could put it where it really wasn't showing and be able to use the remote that comes with it. You need to have the remote in order to navigate around the blitz interface. So I just cleaned the area with some alcohol and applied some double side tape. Surprisingly I think it looks good and this is really easy to hook up. Only thing you have to do is plug it into the OBDII port and connect the yellow video wire and you are all done. If anyone has a better idea where I can put it, please let me know.

Picture of the gauges.

Switching back to the radio. For those that don't know thats what the navtool allows to do. I do not utilize the aux input but plug the blitz into the navtool and wired it up to the heater switch I installed. So while listening to my music i can switch back and forth between the navigation and the blitz gauges, with no loss of sound. Also the navigation system still works the same. The lady comes on and tells you when to turn and all. If you wish to see the map just switch back to the navigation. Let me know if any questions
Frank

Thank you. I love it, and it is so easy to navigate around on it and select the gauges you want to see. Also the A/F graph is awesome. Just need to hook up the oil pressure sensor. I think that will be next weekends project since I have to locate a hole i can run the wire through.

PS I know I need to dust my interior but it is really not that bad. the camera makes it look worse then what it really is. Car has been sitting for a little while now in the garage because of the winter weather.

Nice job with the install.. Any chance you could post of what parts you are using? Including the required pieces to measure boost? Considering this over the HKS Camp2 because of the A/F thing.. Dont understand why HKS can't monitor that.

GTM Motorsports*::*ELECTRONICS*::*BLITZ R-Vit DS VEHICLE MONITORING SYSTEM

there is the Blitz. It is a little more then the HKS but it reads more. The blitz does not read boost pressure. So you will need a guage for that one if you are S/C or you could use your boost controller if your TT like I am. Also My budy has a Camp2 and I like my interface better then his. He even likes my Blitz more, so I think i got the right unit. I can't remember everything the camp2 reads with out sensors, but I know for the whole sha bang your talking like 1100 with all sensors. Here I spent 600 and for the most part I am done. They have two optional sensors, oil pressure and water temp. I got the oil pressure sensor which goes for 130 since sam recomended it but not required. Also the water temp sensor I think is not needed since on my screen it is picking it up from the ECU. I will try and take a picture of everything you can monitor, will that help you? Also I did some driving with it this morning and there is no lag at all in the system. It displays all the numbers smoothly as if they were independent gauges. Let me know if this helps or if i need to answer your questions better. All in all I love this damn thing and wouldn't trade it for the world. Well worth the money.
Frank

Ok, thanks.. I'm not FI yet but looking at the GTM SC, and from what I've read, I know a boost gauge is a good thing to have. Was just thinking an all in one unit like this would be the way to go in the long run.

hey Frank, old thread i know, but i was wondering if you also bought the AF Box? I see the A/F reading in your picture. Isn't that about an extra $600? i am just trying to figure out if I'm looking at $600 or about $1200 here. Thanks
