Currently whats in the chubby now is an Sirius head unit connected to the radio and I want to take it out.

Mounting a full head unit in the upper cubby is going to be hard, so far no unit I am aware of is small enough to fit without sticking out a lot. You can do a new head unit in the lower area and an additional screen in the top. I know some head units support external monitors to do multiple things.
