OEM speakers as you mention with a paper cone, so it must be ok, well that’s why they don’t last long, have you ever looked at an OEM speaker that’s been in a car for a few years, it’s destroyed, from moisture. Not to mention the reason we are all here, OEM speakers suck, wonder why? Alpine, have you looked at an Alpine that is a paper cone after a couple years in a car, i have, and it's not very nice, which could be why they USED to did it. As for cabinets, home cabinets are much better built, hell there is one, car speaker are designed to be IB so, as long as you have something to sort of separation the front and rear waves it’s going to work ok. Also JL uses foam surounds on most of their subs. Last edited by 90 ST; 06-04-2011 at 07:56 PM. |
