With the GT-R community the feedback made the instructions even better with people submitting alternative images (for example on the EU GT-Rs there are no holes behind the rear license plate).

So for you trailblazers out there (especially roadster owners) help the other guys out by sending me any suggested improvements to the instructions. I can then apply them to the online version everyone has a link to.

Cheers,
Brian
I did a trial install today as I had the camera set there and was bored. Ran the cam wires and hooked it up via a hacked up 12v cig lighter feed and the AUX in. Planning on getting some sound deadening next week, so will do you some piccies for the EU side of things. Nothing major different TBH, I just installed it the other side of the hatch release button as it fit better there for me.

Also, found that if you cant get the foam block out behind the strut brace, you can get the cable through in 2 steps. First (in the EU car anyway) there is a document/instruction book holder behind the drivers seat. You can remove this and the little cover left behind it to help fish the cables through, both from the rear (where the foam is) and also from the arm rest. Will grab some pics when I can

For those that have done the install, can you show where you stuck the cam on the bumper, and also what the view looks like on the screen? I was doing mine in the garage and had to faff around for a while to try and find the best place in the bumper recess by the license plate light, and not sure I have it in the ideal place.

Jeff: Just a thought, but what about posting on the GT-R forum. I'm pretty sure that the 2009 NavTool solution for the 2009 370z is the same as the 2009/10 GT-R solution. If that is the case maybe I can drum up some group buy interest from 2009/10 GT-R owners? That way we can get to the required numbers and help the 2009 owners out.

Jeff was able to get navtool to give us the deal with the 11 we have. He is waiting AK's approval.

Brian and Jeff,
Thanks so much for the hard work that you put in for the rest of us. I know I speak for many when I say that it is greatly appreciated. Kit ordered.

My kit arrived last night *whoop*. Got it installed straight away and all works perfect! I need to change the draw line numbers as I have installed the cam on the other side of the hatch release button as it left more space to get the license plate lights in and out and (on my car at least) meant the wire was closer to the grommet for the wiring harness back into the rear hatch. I think there are just some co-eff numbers I can swap over and it will flip the side of the car it thinks its on.

I am doing my sound deadening on Friday, so will be back with more pics of where and how I did stuff, feel free to add them to your how to if you like Brian. Be prepared for a few more orders from the UK when I post it up on our site too

Great, that was quick!

I thought about mounting on the other side. As you say it is a little easier but there were a couple of reasons I chose the other side.
1) At least on mine and Jeff's cars the clip where the cable could be routed was on right of the license plate lights (looking at the back of the car).
2) Also either way you want it as close to the center of the car to get the best image.
3) That was the side the Nissan's had them on and the basis for some of the donor settings. Not that I don't think that you cant change those and get it to work
Note: With the full kits I trim the bracket so it fits.

Was there holes behind the license plate? On the US cars there is and that makes routing/fishing fairly easy. With the UK/EU GT-Rs from what I've seen they are not there so you have to fish straight from the grommet to the license plate light.

Let me know if you want some help with the numbers, you might just be able to change the offset to a negative.

More pictures are always appreciated as in any input to improve the instructions. Like adding a section on installing on the other side.

Ahh, ok that makes sense. On mine, yes the clips are on the right hand side of the light units also, so cables would be closer to the clip for feeding through. I thought it was a bit close to the clip to be able to get the bulb in and out if required. Also didnt realise that the left hand side was closer to the centre of the car. I can easily swap it over to that side if needs be though, no biggie.

With the license plate holes, I didnt take my plate off. I fed a bit of 2 core wire through the grommit and down to the floor, then made a "hook" out of the end and hooked it in the hole for the bulb holder. Taped the cam wire to that and pulled it all back through

I'll have a play with the numbers, but may just move it over to the other side of the release button if the numbers are hard to work out. Keeps it easier to work with if we all have the cam in the same place I guess.
