A2 for me too!

In for 2b.

BTW, I already have a camera installed and run through the aux video input in my Roadster. There are 2 DIYs, one for the camera installation (in the DIY section I think) and one for how to run the wire from the bumper to the cabin in the Roadster (in the Roadster section).

In for 2010, option 2a...cant wait to see details on the final price and product. I assume this will include some preliminary pre-calibrated settings for all the guidelines? Also interested in the bypass harness.

bdl99, JeffBlue, there seems to be a very good response for the nav and DVD in motion bypass... can you confirm if this option is available for the group buy? It would make installation much easier for most of us as one install takes care of everything. Thanks.

The camera kit will be ready before the bypass kit for a number of reasons, one being the availability of connectors. I have a small number of the 32pin connectors required for the bypass kit and there are long lead times (I have ordered more but will take at least 2-3 weeks to come from Japan). I already have all the 24pin connectors for camera kits.

Adding the bypass kit later will be very easy and they do plug in to different places so not then end of the world to do separately. I agree there is interest in the bypass kits but also some are very keen to get their hands on the camera kits.

I also want to get some input on what you guys want. On the GT-R I used a remote because I didn't really have anywhere to put the 3 or 4 switches (or didn't want to). I would really like to work with a few of you on the best solution. I see a few potential offerings
1) For those happy to cut and splice wires then I can just write-up a free DIY guide
2) A plug and play harness so no cutting of original wires is required and you use you own switches
3) A plug and play harness with switches
4) A plug and play solution using the remote

BDL99, it would be easier to answer this if you can explain what the "switches" are needed for. My understanding is that the camera view will display automatically when the vehicle is put into reverse. What do we need switches for?

* Four Button Remote
1 = DVD Bypass (toggle on/off) - Allows viewing of Aux video/front camera with handbrake off
2 = Nav Bypass (toggle on/off) - Permits use of functions that are normally disabled while car is moving
3 = Backup Camera Bypass - See camera without engaging reverse
4 = Switch between Aux Video In and Front Camera

The main Kit (all plug and play). This is a preproduction kit but final kit will be very similar.

Well, IMO, could you not combine 1 & 2 into one button? Better yet, why would you need to turn 1 & 2 off? Why not just leave them on?

And to answer your previoius question, i would have to go with:

3) A plug and play harness with switches

This is why I wanted to keep it separate. For the backup camera no switches are required everything works automatically when the car in placed in reverse and everything required is in the kit.

The question was whether we would offer to include another supplemental kit (the bypass kit) which I made for the GT-R which enabled things like:
Passenger being able to watch auxiliary video feed while car is in motion.
Ability for passenger to enter address or tel number while car is in motion.
Ability to see backup camera without selecting reverse.

It is really something completely separate but you can image that people might want to install both at the same time (especially if they were getting someone else to do the install) and that is where the questions came from.

I'm for keeping the camera kit separate from the bypass kit if it means getting camera
system two to three weeks sooner and with no splicing or adding switches.
