The reason I as is because I have a stock Ford navigation in my Ford explorer and with a couple of button presses the developers menu can be opened enabling use while driving. Thought it might be the same with the z.

I found something that might be of interest. KP Technologies Navigation Bypass Interface.

Here's the install: http://www.robynanddan.com/misc/2009...%20Install.pdf

There is a way to do this by interrupting one of the wires on the main nav unit with a switch. I have done this to my nav system in my 05 FX. I will look at the unit tomorrow and tell you which wire you need to install a switch between and all you have to do is hit the switch (interupt the signal), which makes the unit think that you’re not moving and you will be able to access all the functions, once your done putting your info in just throw the switch back and the nav will catch up to your new position. Hopefully the control unit hasn't changed that much, but it's that easy. What you need to do is locate the nav unit. I mounted the switch on the lower portion on the passenger seat, I will take some pictures for you.

Ok did a little research, your going to have to find the speed sense wire. You need to break the speed sense wire going into the back of the head unit and install the switch in between that wire.
Here is the Infiniti harness which should be the same for the Nissan, check the owners manaul to be sure.
Ok here is the 09 harness behind the radio. You need pin 38, which is the VSS wire. It is Red. Simply use a toggle switch to open it and that will allow input while moving.
