For those that did upgrade their head units that have the Bose sound system, did the head unit improve the sound quality and increase the bass coming from the Bose

For those that did upgrade their head units that have the Bose sound system, did the head unit improve the sound quality and increase the bass coming from the Bose sub? I feel like I barely feel/hear the Bose sub with the oem head unit
