With ASE off I've tried ANC on and ANC off (after successive dealer services) and honestly can't tell the difference. I kinda wonder if ANC is nerfed once you turn ASE off. But anyway, whatever. Would have been happy to keep ANC but the fake engine noises were awful.
Mine has an Invidia Gemini catback, which sounds fantastic but the poxy ASE drowns it out at about 4 - 5,000rpm and i'm hoping turning it off is an improvement. From what you say it should be.

I've been wondering what frequencies the ANC cuts out and does it cancel any of the exhaust note? I drive with the windows down most of the time just to hear it more clearly, so it can't cancel that out.

I bought my 2018 370Z about 5 months ago and sold my 2016 MX-5 that I had for 4 years and wish I had bought one years ago. All positives apart from the fuel consumption and fantastic value for money.

I had the dealer turn off the piped engine sound. They didn't even know it was a 'feature' until I mentioned it but switched it off easily enough.

At first it was a bit strange without it but only because it's unnatural to have so much sound from the engine at higher rpm and at speed. Now it sounds great and it's so good to know what I hear is real and not BS coming through the speakers.

I'm very tempted to go for more intake sound because that will come on strong where the exhaust starts to quiet down at the top end. I know the long tube cold air intakes make the best power but i'm more interested in the sound to be honest and wonder how much they produce tucked away in the nose?
Currently I have silicone intake pipes with drop in AFE filters.

I HATE that I am doing this - so after some failed searching and what not; I figured I would revive this thread than starting a new one.
After doing a 8hour drive by going to San Marcos and back on Saturday - I realized 2 things - 1. I'm getting older and the car is starting to 'beat me up' haha and I want to lower it (go figure)
2. I was forced to keep the speed on the 130 tollway to 80MPH (even though the speed limit is 85 for those not from TX). Between the exhaust, HFC and intakes - it is LOUD in the cabin due to the fake engine noise.

So - reviving this thread bc when I called the dealer - the service guy literally was like NO - NO we won't disable the Active Sound Enhancement. He acted like I was asking them to add turbos or a supercharger through the dealer. Anyway - so I KNOW it's pin 28 but I KNOW there is an old thread where someone was showing a diagram of the amp and where pin 28 is located etc within the forum. I know it's probably a stupid question to ask - but does anyone remember that thread by chance and can give me the link?

Again - i did do a search - but I guess I am sucking today at 'googling' haha - thanks in advance for any help. I'm a complete newb when taking stuff apart so wanted to see the diagram if someone can remember it before attempting anything.
