Disabling Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on 2016+

Hey Everyone,

I picked up my 2016 370z Sport (Bose, no Nav) last week and immediately got annoyed with the active sound enhancement.

I haven't found much info out there on how to bypass or disable it, so I'm hoping someone in the community might have some knowledge.

My understanding is with the Bose, there is a separate amp powering the low ohm speakers. I'm a bit of an audiophile, so not totally opposed to redoing the whole system if that is what it takes as a last resort.

If ASE/ANC can be turned off by the driver, instructions to do so should be in the OM. My guess is that it would be done through the radio setup.

Another member mentioned that the dealership was able to turn off ASE/ANC on his 2016. If it turns out not to be settable by the driver, take to a dealer.

Yes. I saw that thread. However, it doesn't provide a solution. There are also no settings in the radio to accomplish it.

I wonder if there is a fuse you can remove. I know nothing of the system, I own a 2010

On BMWs, there is a fuse, but there is also a way to program it out with a bavtech cable. Is there a wiring diagram anywhere for the Z?

As for the active noise cancellation, I believe there are only two mics by the sun visors. Worst case, I just cut the wires.

Not sure either but I imagine it would be nice to have the ability to turn them off independently. The noise cancelling can be prett nice, wish mine had that to cut some of the tire noise out, hoping next tires are quieter.

No there isn't a way to turn it off. If you pull the audo fuse in the Z your head unit will not turn on.

Where are the amps/processors located in these cars?

Might check the hidden menu, that's where the option is on the 16 maxima. Hold setting button then turn volumn knob till you get tonthebhidden menu and then it is in the config area. I forget exactly where but there is a YouTube video for the maxima.

This is from the 2016 AV service manual on p.85 for the Bose wo_Navi section. If I interpret this correctly they can be turned on and off.

This looks promising.

Do you have a link to the AV manual you referenced and where your screen grab is from?

There is nothing in your signature that links to an FSM for the 2016+. It would be helpful next time if you provide specific examples. Thanks.

Found a link to it: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/370Z/Coupe/2016/AV.pdf
