They stopped using them mid-2011. Luckily my 2011 Nismo doesn't have one which is great. At this point, I think you're being overly optimistic thinking a dealer will replace it

They stopped using them mid-2011. Luckily my 2011 Nismo doesn't have one which is great. At this point, I think you're being overly optimistic thinking a dealer will replace it for free given your Z is an '09. Regardless of who pays for it, make sure you search the forum and find one of the many threads on how to disable the ESCL in the unlocked position.
