CV3 Wheels

What's easier to sell on there own,the vossens or the stockers? Maybe that plays a part.

All wheels will break, but I have more peace of mind knowing that that lesser quality wheels will break sooner than my better quality OEM wheels.

But hey we all have our perferences

I have never owned a DD car with forged wheels untill the Z. Never had a brocken wheel. So your argument is not valid.

The world doesn't revolve around you so your argument is invalid.

forged wheels will bend, while cast wheels will crack.

Also, it's not just the strength, it's also the weight of the wheel as well. Personally I would stick to the stock rays or spend a little more and buy high quality forged wheels, but to each his own.

I'll ask again, if you don't mind.

If one is buying wheels for looks and they are a good quality cast wheel (because not all cast wheels are the same), for a car that wil never see racing of any kind when, will weight and performance will ever be an issue?

Hopefully dichoi, you can have an adult discussion and not turn it into a personal battle.

if buying wheels for looks, then yeah there's not really much i can say. if you like vossen's designs, then by all means go for it. then OP wouldn't have to spend money on high performance tires or suspension parts etc...

forged wheels aren't only useful for racing. I have a friend who had vossens on his G, hit a pothole, and cracked them. Not saying all forged wheels would've survived that impact, but they would stand a better chance.

Thank you. Respect to you.

I totally agree that expensive forged wheels are the best thing one can buy, but not everybody has the money, or has the need for the performance.

He said personal battle lol. All I said is that the OEM wheels are better than any cast wheel and you got butthurt. If you wanna run your wheels fine knock yourself out on the street running over a pothole.

I hope you kept your stock wheels

OP, CT, lemme throw in my 2 cents.
I agree not all cast wheels are made equal
I think Vossen has some sexy designs, their 5 spoke thing is amazing IMO.
BUT I have probably heard about more Vossens breaking on a DD than friggin Varrstoens.
And I have personally seen accidents involving Volks. Like, guy hits a curb at 30-45 jumps on the curb, and the Volk ends up with a small bend. I have even seen REPAIRED Volks hit the same curb at 30-45 in ALMOST the same spot and STILL be barely bent... Hell, I've hit some big arse potholes at high speed and have yet bent a Volk, the same potholes that bent my buddy's IS250 wheel

Now, taking that into account, IMO there are a few safety features on a car that are owner dictated (in order of importance in my mind.)
Tires, brakes, wheels, lug nuts.

That being said, my goal is function, then form, so for me, I'd rather bleed the extra grand or so to have the peace of mind knowing that the wheels will take a beating over design of the wheel, and if push comes to shove and I hit soemthing and my tire has gone out, I'll drive on them to safety too, lol
