Question Differance in size before the lights come on

Searched, but didn't find what I was looking for. Question is how much differance can you have between the front tire and rear tire in diameter before it affects the computer? Reason is, I have to order new rear tires. I corded them at my last trackday. The front tires are 275/35-19, 26.6" in diameter, and they are still good. The old 325/30-19's are 26.7" in diameter. Wondering if I could go to 345/30-19, 27.2" diameter without the lights coming on.

Ken would know. In one of the threads he told me, but I can not recall. It could be something like 1%.

whenever i was buying my newest set of tires someone mentioned the acutal amount of difference where it messes up the ECU but for the life of me i cant remember.

i'm running 265/35/19 and 305/30/19 RE-11's and have no light. not sure of the specs of their diameters at the moment.

To keep TCS happy I would keep a stagger of at least .5" to a max of 1"

Wink

I'm looking at a .6" for what I want to do.

Must be 1", not 1%. I had a number 1 in my head. Looks like you should be OK at 0.6.

It's tough to really get concrete info but in my experience if you maintain at least 1% to 3% you won't run into issues

The .5" to 1" guidance is what we have been suggesting to people for years on my350z without issue

I also use this tire calculator whenever I am asked too:

me?

the 350Z/G35C dynamic control system is rudimentary in comparison to the 370Z's system.

i think if you're within 3% you're fine. i dont have scientific data on this though.

Even for as long as the Z33 has been out we don't have concrete info

Damn Nissan and it's over complicated systems!
