on a 350z or a 370z? reason i ask is a 370 does not have brembos so clearance would not matter. but on a 350 they should clear considering the akebono are bigger than the brembos. i have seen a 350z with akebonos fit LMGT-4 NISMO 18" wheels with no issues, also the 18" touring wheels

Nevermind. It was a dumb question. I was thinking they switched back to Brembo when they switched the color from grey to red. Im in Afghanistan and ordered a new 2014 Sport so i havent gotten to look at the car yet haha. So thanks man.

Instead of starting a new thread, I though I'd piggy back onto this one (since the OP's question was answered).

My question has to do with break clearance as well. I understand that offset does not always guarantee Akebono clearance. I understand that it has to do with spoke design and etc.

What I was wondering - is there a measurement I can request from a shop or the manufacturer, that will help me check the clearance, without having to put the rim on.

I am not able to find a shop that sells the rims I was looking at, so they need to be ordered on line. It would be great if there was a way to measure if the wheels would fit without actually having a the wheel on hand.

Thank you. Sorry, not to arguing, but just trying to understand.

Isn't backspace the distance between the mounting plate and the inner lip of the wheel? That would only determine if the wheel will clear the suspension parts. Correct?

Wouldn't I want the measurement from the mounting plate to the inner edge of the spoke to see if the break will fit there? Or is the answer not that simple?

I guess I am trying to avoid the error part.

Same as before.

I am good in the rear, but the fronts are making my decision difficult.

What my calculations show, is that as far as how far the wheels sticks out, my best option is:

20x9 +32 with 235/35 tires. (I am choosing between two wheels - Vossen CV2 or Rohana RC26)

However Vossen says that +32 will clear the brakes and Rohana says theirs will not.

My next option to go with +20 offset, which will definitely clear the brakes, but will stick out too far IMO.

Since I can not physically see the wheels, I was hoping I could confirm what each manufacturer says by having a measurement rather then just a verbal confirmation.

Thanks for helping.

There is also the issue of under steer you mentioned. Rohana is an 11" wheel in the back and the Vossen is 10.5".

i like the cv2's better. in fact, i was looking at a set to get my G until i decided to go with the gnosis.

what is your shop's return policy? id just buy the one front wheel with the ET32, and test fit. and if it fits correctly, then buy the other 3, get the wheels wrapped locally at a tire store that has a touchless mounter.

btw, if you're running stock height, no need to go 235/35, just get 245/35/20's.

i still think you're going to like the nismo wheels better though... those cv2, rohana, etc they are HEAVY for a sports car.

I know. I have considered all that. You'll probably lose respect for me, if I told you looks are more important to me.

OK. That's fair, the sidewall on 245 on +32 will be flush with the outside of the fender.

I have been dealing with Jason at GETYOURWHEELS, I do not know what their policy is.

Jason is offering to shave 3 mm of the mounting plate to bring it to +23.
