TPMS bomb DIY. So easy even a child can do it!

1. Obtain child

2. Obtain 4 inch PVC end cap, threaded end cap, PVC glue, Teflon tape, and a threaded plumbing inflation (Schroeder Valve)

3. Glue end cap to threaded end cap.

4 drill hole just a bit smaller than plumbing inflation valve.

5. Screw in valve

6. (Not pictured because Shadezz has all my TPMS sensors). Insert TPMS sensors (padded with bubble wrap or paper towels)
7. Make threads airtight with Teflon tape

8. Screw on endcap

9. Inflate to about 40 psi

10. Clean and put away tools and child.

I've done this with my truck sensors. Problem I have is after about week and a half. I have to put more air into it as it leaks out through the plastic pipe it self. Ended up using metal pipe. Food for thought.

I am going to plastidip inside of the PVC to "Seal" it!

PVC is not very gas permeable. I suspect you had a leaky Schrader valve, threads, joints, &c.

That depends on the plastic used. At work, I've seen PVC hold hydrogen gas with no problems, then seen it leak through the wall of the PVC using plant air. Go figure.

One is likely to run into only two grades of PVC pipe at the local hardware store: building grade and piping grade. As far as gas permeability goes, there's not much difference between the two. Both are pretty much airtight when put together properly. If it will hold Hydrogen (I have my doubts but will take your word for it), it will hold anything you or I are likely to put in it.

FWIW, I would consider PVC pipe to be a very poor choice of materials to use in a car. It becomes brittle when cold and soft when warm (max working temperature is only 140F for building grade PVC). If one must use PVC, the method that uses two large caps looks like it would be the strongest.

i guess you put them in the car to fool the car to think you have the sensors in.... no?

i guess putting a happy face sticker over the TPMS warning light is too much work.

i was a bit confused at first but I guess it makes sense. you would need 4 of these to get rid of the dash light right?

why not just use the valve stem thats on the tpms as the fitting though? just like how it would work on a wheel.
