Pilot Super Sport vs. Pilot Sport A/S Plus

What's the difference between these two tires? I'm in Austin, TX so the weather is mostly pretty good all year round. Snow/ice is not a concern.

The super sport is 100% for performance. It's one of the most popular tires here. Will give you amazing grip when taking turns, launches, braking etc. treadlife will be shorter than the all seasons. Maybe 20k... More if you drive conservatively, less if you like to give it the beans( which you should)The a/s tires are all seasons. Longer treadlife but not as grippy as the super sports. Haven't ownEd either but I plan to get the super sports when my potenzas wear out.

Thanks. I drive about 75 miles a day, so I'd be willing to give up a little performance for the tread life.

the PSS is a much newer tire. It was released i think in 2011 and it uses their latest advances.

Michelin claims you can get 30k miles from these. I've had mine for about about 8 months and they still look like new (granted, i don't drive THAT much, but i did take a 1200 mile trip on them...)

So, if the prices are close (and i think they are) there's really no reason to consider a dated / lesser tire over the PSS IMO.

I love the Super Sports. I've got 12K miles on mine already and not even half done. Stick very nicely, and feel good at speed even in heavy rain.

Philipp will become famous soon enough
Default PSS Life expectations

I have done 3 track days with PSS and less than 7k miles in normal driving conditions and my tires almost look like slicks now... Neither less, I will buy another set of PSS without hesitations.

Def the pss. These tires rock. Butt loads better than the factory crap that comes on our Zs. When the turbo kills this set I'm buying another set for sure

30K if you can rotate them. You can't rotate the tires on this car. Read the fine print of the Michelin warranty.
