My issue is I wasn't thinking I would need to run so much negative camber..the guy I bought them from didn't appear to be running that kind of camber. Although his was a nismo not sure how much if any difference it would make. In my experience thus far negative camber doesn't belong on a daily driven car, or if you want your car to handle and perform IMHO

Previous owner had them sticking out pretty far. http://www.the370z.com/attachments/p...-strasse-5.jpg What is far negative camber in your opinion? I think Mike said he was at -3 or -3.5 camber when he had the wheels. |
I'm not sure what exactly I was at but I know in order to nut rub everywhere I was at a camber that only allowed half of the wheel and tire to be in direct contact with the pavement

So yes... they do. |

I want to go with Michelin PSS, 255/40/19 front and 295/35/19 rear on stock 19" Sport Package Rays. Will I need spacers?
|
So I picked up some SSR SP3 19X9.5 +12 245/40/19 and 19X11.5 +11 285/35/19 what would you guys suggest for a meaty set up.. I'll be dropped on Swift Spec Rs with SPL rear camber arms and toe bolts.. Would like to keep things as close to factory specs for camber and toe as possible.. Thanks
|
based on your offsets and wanting to keep it relatively close to factory..
305 in the rear and 245 front is about what i would say. You could go a step bigger front and back, but may require some more camber. Of course.. every manufacturer is slightly diff. The Neova AD08's are wider than the hankook v12 for example despite the same spec. |
alright fellas i read thru both meaty tires threads and still cant decide whats the best tire size up front for my nismo rims? i want to stick with a 305/30/19 out back, but what size up front?
275/35/19 or 265/35/19 or something else? |
275
are you lowered? |

265 should fit nice in the front.

275 F 305 R will understeer a lot.

Ive actually seen on the my350z where people in the road racing section talk about on a square setup still having understeering problems while being pushed on the track...saying they wanna try putting a 285 R 305 F to rotate more. No one ever tried it. People are rocking 315/30/18 Hoosiers though, thats probably a fun ride around a track! |

edit - nevermind
|
I think they do that for people that plan on modding the car out of the gate... No sense in spending extra money on the car if you plan on upgrading the LSD brakes wheels etc right from the get go Even if it is not their intentions then it still serves that purpose

Here's a few pics of mine:
I'm running Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255/35/19 front, 305/30/19 rear, mounted on Avant Garde M310s. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/rdcardone/01.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/rdcardone/02.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/rdcardone/03.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e221/rdcardone/04.jpg |

No swifts, stock suspension. Absolutely love the Pilot SS tires! Grips sooo much better than before (stock Yokos).
|
I didn't bother going through this long thread but will 255/35/19 and 305/30/19 work on stock nismo wheels? Thanks guys!
|
Just a tip... Most guys are much less willing to help when you are lazy and don't search first... And on the oter hand much more willing to help out if you have done some research yourself and know what questions to ask without someone asking you for more details.. That being said, it depends on modifications, but stock height and no spacers, yes 255 and 305 will fit fine, however I suggest stepping the front up to 265 if you're running 305s in the rear
