Hell no. I'm running 265/30 on my 9.5". Wanted 275/30 but R888 doesn't come in that size.

KaienZ34 04-23-2012 08:20 AM

A 305 looks perfect on a 10.5" wide wheel. To me I think a 255 looks stretched on a 9.5" wheel.

255

Slightly, but still very fine.

Here are my 285/315 set up. I have rubbing in front and am going to roll my fenders in a day or two when it isn't raining.

KaienZ34 05-15-2012 09:07 AM

What are the offsets and whatnot? You may also have to cut the the plastic bump stop in the front fender liners. It's pokes down more than all the rest of the liner because that screw is under it. Most cut it some (like my friend) just let the tire wear it down after a few days of driving.

W.O.W. 370Z 05-15-2012 09:39 AM

Nice 285s! I had to roll my fenders when I put on the 285s.

Robert_K 05-15-2012 09:53 AM

You had to roll a 370Z's fenders to fit 285's??? What offset and sizing?

Here is my 350Z with the following...

HRE P43SC Satin Black wrapped in Toyo R888 (run large)

19x9.5 +20 265/30
19x11 +25 305/30

W.O.W. 370Z 05-15-2012 10:15 AM

To fit 285 in the front...yes.

dirTy_shoeZ 05-15-2012 10:23 AM

I run a 265/35 on a 9.5 and think it's proper. But I prefer a bigger sidewall. I have a 30 out back and want a 35 as well.

Your 30 series r888's do look dope tho man.

Robert_K 05-15-2012 10:37 AM

Reading fails me. LOL R888s run big. A lot of owners told me that a 305 is really like a 315 and etc...

dirTy_shoeZ 05-15-2012 10:40 AM

Yeah I was thinking that about your 305/30 on that 11

285/35/20x10 30mm 315/30/20x10.5 18mm
The 30mm offset in front is perfect because I barely have any room between tire and control arm. I am already losing an inch of wheel space because of the tire profiles and then it is dropped 1.3" in front so that is why I am rubbing. I tucked the liner under the metal tabs. When I roll the fender it should hold it in place nicely.

I will try and get some pics tomorrow. I'm running 265/295

Xplicit97 06-14-2012 10:15 PM

I need some suggestions for tire size. Right now I'm running Strasse forged SM8 20X10 +15 w 255s and 20X12 +0 w 305. I'm on BC BR coils with a SPL camber kit. They are kinda stretched (came that way) was curious what you would suggest. Not really wanting to run a ton of camber like I am now stretched

Can you stuff a 275/285 30 & 335/30 in the Z34 chassis?

I'll play with my wheel/tire calculator later. What are the oem wheel/tire sizes/offsets?

you can

i run a 275 and 325.

Right now I'm in the process of figuring out a track setup for Auto-X. Not sure if I should buy some Vossen CV3/TE37's for daily and use stock 19's with some ToyoR888/Hoosiers or cheap Varrstoen's for track and stock 19's for daily. In the mean time I'm running 265 fronts and 285 rear RE-11's. 15mm spacer in the front and 20mm in the rear. These work okay for track but would like a more serious tire setup in the near future.

Rockcrawler 06-22-2012 10:58 AM

anybody notice effects on mileage? just curious on the measured impact more than "yes, wider= worse mileage"

just ordered some Conti DWS (what's right for me and my use) in 275/295 and they will go on next week after my Rays are PC Black stardust.

went wider for a variety of reasons, but most of it for "percieved" added wheel protection margin....

Why would you get worse gas mileage from wider tires? I don't see any logic behind that reasoning. My mileage avg i think has gone slightly down, but that is only because I am actually running tires that are about an inch taller in diamater than stock so my speedometer says I am going slower than I am and therefore showing less miles traveled than actual. I know tires have different roll resistance but the mileage would be negligible.

Actually it can happen. When you increase your rotational mass the engine has to work harder to spin the wheel and tire. As well as your brakes work harder to stop it from spinning. A lot more goes into a wheel/tire set-up than looks.

I just put Ventus V12's F255/40 R285/35 with F20mm R25mm Spacers on Eibach Pros... My baby looks beeeautiful!:happydance:

Man I tell ya. I would find it very difficult to go back to stock offsets. Im sure you feel the same with the spacers. I have Avant Garde M310s with 18/20 offsets so no need for spacers. Its just a great look.Attachment 49474

ohhh hell yes it is haha. I dont think I could ever part with my now "flush" look. Bad thing is, it actually makes me want camber arms and sway bars.... Then I was like "hell I might as well just buy coilovers!"... So it begins!!
