Default Avan v. cheaper version?

The Yokohama Avan tires (18") on my 2009 Z are pretty much gone at 19K miles. I did not race, do burn outs, or anything like that and they are gone. Is this normal? I have priced replacements for the front at $281 each and $299 for the rear tires. I don't have that kind of money right now. I priced the same size Yokohama tires, the YK580, for $163 front and $194 rear. Will I notice a huge difference? At this point I don't see I have much choice. Thanks for any advice.

You can look on here and see if anyone is selling a set or you could go with a less expensive tire. The Ventus V12's are a popular choice and relatively inexpensive. 19k miles is actually pretty good for high performance summer tires and yes its normal. The YK580 is an all-season tire, so you will notice a bit of a difference. For normal daily driving though, you might not.

If money is tight and you need tires, look at the Ventus V12 like cmike said. Its one of the best performing budget summer tires available.

Default Thanks everyone

I really appreciate your advice. The tires went at the same time my ex-wife is trying to beat more money out of me (child support ended last year after 19 years) and I have to pay the state of Missouri's "luxury" (they call it personal property tax) of $1000 and may have to pay an attorney so money is tight. Maybe I'll just trade my Z in on a new one every time the tires go bad. Just kidding. Again, thanks

I know OP is trying to keep the budget down but if you are gonna spend 260-280 per rear tire you may as well get the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

They are lighter than the Yoko's, have higher treadwear rating, and have better grip.

Michelin SS' are great tires, but not when you're on a budget. I'd agree if cost is really important the V12's are a good deal. Long treadlife, good dry straight traction, not the best in the corners but they make up for it in the wet. And they're quiet too.
