Default Carbon Fiber Front Upper Trim: cheaper option?

looking at The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts: SALE! Carbon Fiber Front Upper Trim, 09-10 370Z

wondering if there's any cheaper option that I can go with that will cover up the annoying screw holes. I want it looking cleaner than just stuffing the holes with a plastic cap.

You can remove the piece and wrap it in CF vinyl with 3M's CF Vinyl ( 3M Di-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl : Carbon Fiber Gear). Very durable for exterior trims.

if you're looking for a 'cheaper option' per your title, you might want to look into filling the holes, sand it, and put black vinyl over the entire top black area; unless you want to sand down the entire top black area for texture consistency and get it repainted.

I was told by a Nissan dealership that this black strip where the license plate attaches (the area covered by the trim piece) is actually part of the bumper fascia (i.e the whole front end is one piece so you can't easily remove it and cover with CF vinyl.

To the OP, did you get the trim piece and if so, how much area did it cover? How does it look?

I bought the Upper trim for the same reason to cover up the license plate holes. Ended up selling it because I didn't mind bumper plugs, it looks clean to me...

My question to the OP was how does it look...1st hand. And does it cover the whole piece (ie does it wrap down and under in the front or just cover the vertical).

Yes the link is fine and the pictures from 10 feet away are ok, but I'm interested in the opinion of someone who has actually seen and installed this item.

thanks for your...ummmm...input.

Default More pics?

I know this is a really old post but I'm in the same boat trying to cover the holes. The previous owner actually drilled 3 holes for some reason. Bumper plugs just wouldnt look right. I was able to find one other pic of the carbon fiber front upper trim by The Z Store, but I want some more pics and opinions from people that have had it on for a while. Thanks.
