The RE-11 and the AD08 are both pretty awesome tires. I found the RE-11s to be a lot nicer in the rain (when they had tread : ) and the AD08s to be way more talkative on the track.
On a hot day at Mid-Ohio as a novice they both started to get a little slippy toward the end of a session but nowhere near as greasy as the stock (RE050A) tires. I started out on used RE-11s 265/305 and got 3-4 track days and several thousand highway miles out of htem. So far on the 275/295 AD08s I've got 8 track days (iirc 5 were wet) and probably 10k highway miles. I figure I'll be able to run them for the first weekend of the year or maybe second before I get some 18" wheels and new rubber. |
