Default Impressive curb rash / road chunk!

When getting in my car yesterday a glint from my left-front wheel caught my eye:

Well if there were any doubt, these rims are now offically my winter wheels giving me an excuse (like I need one) to get some new sexy summer rims in the spring. At that time I will probably have these rims repaired and powder-coated.

What is impressive about this chunk besides the massive amount of material that has been gougued is that I have no idea when and how this happened.

Also, this is what you should expect if you use your Z as a winter DD!

Enjoy!

Ouch! That can definitely be repaired, though.

Nice...You must have had that music blasting because that would've been noticeable or at least felt it.

Usually I try to avoid curbs, but in the winter sometimes the snow and ice eitehr hides the curbs or allows sliding into them. I have been looking at it real close and notice there is a little chunk out of the tire as well, so my theory is there may have been a rock or some other hard object when I was driving in the snow or ice (which is pretty loud) which caused the chunk. If you notice there is no curb rash before or after, so it iwas a pretty clean and powerful hit.

Love the Blizzaks though!

Wow that's a big chunk, I can't believe you didn't feel it? I curbed some cheapo rims that were on my old civic when I bought it and I definately felt it and it was nuthin compared to that! IMO it looks like you hit something metal, concrete or asphault wouldve crumbled somewhat and scraped more before and after that one spot?!
