Default How to get a spare tire for 370Z Roadster

For those of you who want to get a spare tire for your 370Z Roadster, I already sent the Nissan part number for the kit, but you had to buy the actual spare TIRE separately.

The dealer initially found some tire whse in New Jersey, but they told the dealer that the tires could be as much as four years old, I told the Dealer to forget it, and looked elsewhere. If I am going to buy a new spare, I want it to be NEW, not a four year old tire that's half past it's expected safety life. And especially at $300 dollars a pop! So be careful where you buy the tire, and make sure it's new, or close to new. Not four years old. But of course, that's your call.

I'll give you all the info once again, so you won't have to go back and search for it.

The spare tire kit Nissan part number is:
999W5 ZW000 370Z CONV. SPAR

The tire is a Bridgestone. Size: T145/70/R18
My Nissan Dealer Parts ordered the tire from Dealer Tire, it's out of Chicago.

The tire was manufactured the 41st week of 2009, so it's pretty new, not some old tire thats ready to degrade.

The Kit includes everything you need to have the complete spare tire set up, like right from the factory, EXCEPT THE TIRE, and costs $460.00.

The tire itself was $300.00.

My tire will be in early next week, the Dealer will mount and balance the tire on the wheel, then all I have to do is to take the flat repair center styrofoam out of the center, and install the new spare set up with appropriate tools, jack and etc.

I am going to keep the "fix a flat" kit w/compressor that came with my Roadster in the car, plus a tire plug kit that I purchased separately. They don't take up much room at all.

Normally, I'd have no problem having the Auto Club send some guy out and tow/flat bed my regular car, but if I can avoid it, I really don't want that to be the only option for my 370Z.

Default spare tire

I contacted Nissan North America (800-647-7261) and the girl was beside herself. She said she never knew the 370z roadster doesn't come with a spare. Long story short, she gave me $100.00 roucher at a Nissan dealer. She said I could use it all in one shot only. I could use it for service or parts.
This will buy half of the splash guards.
I have the 19" rims. The dealer found the donut wheel without a tire for $645. I guess I need to find out how the inflatible kit works. I've been hung out to dry one time already. The yutz at the dealer put on 350z locking lugs. When I had a flat the front part of the locking lug sheered off. So Nissan had to pay for towing, pay for the new 370z locking lugs and pay for the new tire. I think eventually they won't pay for stuff like I experienced.

how much room do you have in the trunk for the spare on the roadsters?

i'd just buy one 18" wheel with tire and use that instead. if you need an anchor you can probably just make one too.

Thanks for the part number and tire info. Was at the dealership this morning, the parts guy was surprised my roadster didn't have a spare, so I showed him. He couldn't your info in his computer. Will head back over to stealer ship this week and order it for my 2017.

Not a real smart parts guy. One thing to think about carrying a spare. You have to have a place to put the tire you take off & there isn't enough room in the trunk. The owners manual says to place it behind the passenger seat. I wouldn't even try to stuff a dirty old tire in behind the seat.

Back from the dealership, found out Nissan no longer carries 999W5 ZW000. The parts manager was redirected to a page with all the individual parts all seperatly priced out. That grand total is over $1000, just so you know...
