Do we have spare tire?

Do we have spare tire in the trunk? Is it okay to remove spare tire? Will it be affact to gas mileage and performance? I found BOSE AUDIO printed round

Do we have spare tire in the trunk?
Is it okay to remove spare tire?
Will it be affact to gas mileage and performance?
I found BOSE AUDIO printed round metal cap, and it was screwed to something under the trunk... where i can find spare tire?

Leepen,

Here is a link to the 2009 370z Owner's Manual posted by AK. Go to 6-4 and it talks about the spare tire.

As far as perfomance, there are many threads on hear talking about weight reduction where the entire contents of the trunk (spare, carpet, plastic, sub, etc) were removed to shave weight.

Many people have suggested that removing weight from the trunk and back of the car may very well be detrimental to the overall dynamics as the car is already front biased. I've never seen anything objective to support this though. Nor have I seen any numbers to support tearing out the back of your car in order to get a marginal performance gain.

If you drive on the streets, you better keep your spare or make sure your AAA membership is current (or Canadian equivalent).

If you make no other changes to the stock car and simply remove weight from the rear but not the front, then yeah the results won't be positive. Sure your horsepower:weight ratio will improve slightly, but the car is already front-heavy, and it's the rear that needs weight over the tires to keep traction.

I've done some minor weight reduction in the front (mostly, removing the windshield washer system, the engine cover, and a bunch of little useless tubes and brakets of various kinds, and the battery relocate to the rear), and I still think with the spare/sub/carpets/etc removed in the rear, I've lost "too much" in the rear so far. You can tell by looking at the suspension, my car still sits higher in the rear (relative to the front) than it did stock. The spare and sub are pretty hefty items. I'm hoping this balances back out a bit once I finally get a box and some carpeting put over the relocated battery.

u should get a cf hood rather than remove the spare. the extra weight in the back will help with slightly better traction

Although any weight of is good weight off, they are right, the car is already somewhat nose-heavy so if you can take any weight off it should be from the front first.

I have a question about the spare or more like the area where the spare sits. Can it accomodate a full sized spare? I as because i hate the donute. Is every single one of my past cars the first thing i did was upgrade the wheels and keep one of the stockers as a spare in the truck. Can i do this with the 370?

What is the issue with the minimal weight difference removed from the rear - percentage wise its not even 2%? Won't it just make the car turn in better or does it already over steer?
