Is there a certain time of the year to buy tires for best price?

Hello. Tires are finally getting pretty worn down. Time to buy new ones soon. Other then the obvious black Friday deals, is there a best time to buy performance tires?

Not that I've ever noticed. The exception to that would be seasonal, snow tires or summer tires, and their prices might drop some towards the end of the season.

Summer/performance. So you think fall time? I was thinking the same.

Depends on what you're buying. Summer tires go on sell the beginning of the season. Winter tires go on sell the beginning of the season. But with the supply shortages going on. Who knows what they will have on stock.

I don't think so. Price of rubber will continue to go up. Tire prices are expected to rise close to 5% by '23 vs '18. Demand for both top tier and low end tires remain so overall there is not a time of yr where prices go down. It's a matter of who among at the retail end will give up margin. I $hop and ask if they could beat their competitor's prices and that's where I go. Also, mfrs adjust production and distribution of summer/winter tires so its not an issue for them to pivot and avoid having to apply discounts.

Depends on what you’re looking for?
I know some tire dealers are offering rebates on certain brands in the states

I saw this morning where Cooper is offering a $100 rebate. I run their Zeon RS3-G1's on my dd. *Excellent* rain tires, though a little noisy, and a wide selection of sizes.

I usually buy wheels and tires for my car during the Black Friday sale for a better discount. I only replace them when I notice I've lost traction on the road or it's worn out.

Hello again.

I started preliminary research on the tires.

Looking at Michelin's website, they have have PSS and PS4S listed. I was under the impression that PSS were discontinued. Did something change?

Too bad that they do not ship to Canada.

Mich still have the PSS. The PS4S doesn't come in all the sizes as the PSS does.

Well, I am curently running Michelin Pilot SuperSport:

245-35-20
285-30-20

This size is available in both tires.

I was hoping to go a bit wider in the back and try 295-30-20, but I am not sure if that will mess with anything. Or do I also switch to 255-35-20 in the front, to keep the change more or less equal?

Stock suspension and rims are.

20x9 +32 Front
20x10.5 +25 Rear

I think these tires will change my speedometer reading by almost 2%. My current tires change it by less then !%,

These sizes are also available in bot tires.

If you go with the 295/30-20. It's about 0.8% difference with the 245/35-20. The 255-295 combo would be the same.
